Burundi-born talent Berchimas has long been touted the USA's next great talent, and his ability was on full display during an Under 18's trial game at Carrington training ground, as he scored in the behind-closed-doors fixture.
AdvertisementTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Berchimas has been on the radar's of a number of European clubs since a 2022 trial spell with German giants Bayern Munich. He is also one of the most exciting young names to come out of the USA since the likes of Christian Pulisic and Giovanni Reyna.
He made his debut for Charlotte FC just two days after his 16th birthday, making him the 10th youngest player in MLS history to make it onto the pitch.
During the trial match at Carrington, the winger was impressive, and even managed to get himself on the scoreboard, showing quick feet at the edge of the box before firing into the corner. It remains to be seen whether he has done enough to sign a professional contract with the Red Devils, but with so much talent, it's seemingly only a matter of time until he's snapped up by a European club.
DID YOU KNOW?
Should Berchimas sign a contract with Manchester United, he would be the first US man to be contracted to the club since goalkeeper Tim Howard, who left the Red Devils in 2007.
