Vinicius has often been considered one of the flashiest wingers in world football after Neymar Jr, often using his quick feet and burst of speed to beat defenders. However, his form has really dropped off of late and he seems to be suffering a crisis of confidence. The 24-year-old's laughable attempted rainbow flick against Pachuca in Real's 3-1 win has seen fans mock his 'trademark' move gone wrong.

X user @Priceless_MCI wrote: "Rodri actually ruined Vinicius, he has never been the same."

@MusialaEra joked: "I was gonna say Vinicius found his level but turns out he‘s worse than the players of the 16th placed Mexican team."

@Carrington_FCB added: "No jokes, Vinicius has not looked like a professional player in MONTHS. Forget Ballon d’Or level. Forget Superstar level. Forget Real Madrid level. Forget La Liga level. Dude looks like he should not be playing professional football. What happened?"

@UtdBloke_ concluded: "This is the 19th time Vinicius is trying a rainbow flick and failed all. Someone tell Vini Jr to try some other skills."

Vinicius has been suffering from potentially his worst form since joining Real Madrid, having had to contend with getting used to playing with Kylian Mbappe. New boss Xabi Alonso has also admitted that he wants to 'push' the Brazilian. Alonso said: "I don't think he needs to be reminded of the situation. He's fine, but we all want to push him to be decisive, as he has been on many occasions. He has that unpredictable style of play that sets him apart. When he manages to connect with his essence on the pitch, it's crucial."

WHAT NEXT FOR VINICIUS?

Real will play their final group stage game of the Club World Cup against fellow European side Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday night. The clash will be a must-win for Los Blancos, because if they lose and Al-Hilal win against Pachuca, the Spanish giants will be knocked out of the tournament in the United States.
